Capital Campaign
The Kansas African American Museum is developing a new Museum and Cultural Center in downtown Wichita. This expanded facility will preserve history, support education, and create meaningful connections for visitors from across Kansas and beyond.
Located at 201 North Main Street, the renovated building will allow TKAAM to protect its growing collection, expand programming, and welcome more than 45,000 visitors each year. This project represents a long-term investment in cultural preservation, education, and access.
Community Celebration
Thank you to the more than 235 guests, volunteers, and partners who joined us for Juneteenth at TKAAM. Your participation brought our community mural to life and helped create a meaningful day of reflection, history, creativity, and celebration.
Programs
Senior Wednesdays at TKAAM offer engaging and enriching experiences for adults 55 and older. While the focus is on older adults, younger guests occasionally join in as well. Programs are typically twice a week — one at 10 a.m. and another at 1:30 p.m. — though schedules may vary.
At TKAAM, we host on the fifth Wednesday of the month. For a full schedule and list of hosting venues, visit SeniorWednesday.org.
